Teeth are meant to work together to support your natural bite and face shape and to make it easy to eat, speak and smile. But after a tooth is lost to decay, damage or even aging, it can be difficult to enjoy meals the same way or to speak without difficulty or a lisp. In many cases, losing a tooth also affects our self-esteem when we don’t feel confident in our smiles. At Isabella Avenue Dentistry in Coronado, we help patients who have lost one or more teeth regain the function and beauty of their smile using custom partial and full dentures or revolutionary dental implants. Give us a call at 619-435-0147 to schedule your consultation. We look forward to seeing you smile confidently.
Partial Dentures: When just one or a few teeth are missing, a partial denture (or dental crown and bridge) easily fills the space between one or more missing teeth with natural looking dental crowns (also known as “false teeth”) that are fixed to durable, gum-colored acrylic or plastic. Many patients request removable partial dentures or crowns and bridges, but they may also be fixed to adjacent teeth with strong metal “wings”.
Complete Dentures: Complete dentures, or “full dentures” are removable prosthetic devices that are used when all remaining teeth have been lost or after significant damage or decay results in the need for tooth extraction to remove any remaining teeth. These dentures comfortably adhere to the top and bottom surfaces of the mouth to look just like ordinary healthy teeth and to provide convenient functionality.
Immediate Dentures: These dentures are made prior to the tooth extraction process or removing one or more remaining teeth in the upper or lower surface of the mouth, allowing patients to enjoy a full set of teeth directly after tooth extraction. While these dentures may help patients eat and speak while their gums heal, they will require frequent adjustments and should only be considered as a temporary solution.
Denture Relines: For patients who have dentures already but have noticed changes in the fit of their dentures we offer professional denture relines to keep your smile feeling snug and functional.
Are you frustrated after losing one or more teeth, but can’t imagine yourself with dentures? Implant-supported dentures use beautiful, tooth-colored porcelain crowns to look and feel just like healthy teeth that clasp firmly into place onto dental implants that are fixed into the jaw. Over time, this form of restorative dentistry helps prevent rapid bone loss in the jaw after one or more teeth are missing. Patients with implant-retained dentures are thrilled to maintain their natural face shape and bite even years after tooth loss. If your health and confidence have been suffering after the loss of a tooth or teeth, give us a call at 619-435-0147 to schedule a consultation.
